Expedition Summary We return to the snowy backcountry for untouched powder and incredible views. We camp in the snow for a night and also stay at beautiful Janet's Cabin, sitting right at treeline and just a short hike away from incredible high-altitude skiing. Avalanche instructor and mountain guide, Tim Brown, joins us again to instruct on keeping safe in avalanche country. Update: We camped in the snow on our first night, and Michael Brown taught the group how to build a snow cave for safe sleeping. After skinning and snowshoeing through a stunning valley on day two, students set up home base at Janet's Cabin for great food and inspiring discussions on adventure filmmaking. Highlights included Jose Campos (a student and regular B.A.S.E. jumper) strapping on a parachute to do a bit of unique airborn skiing. We also buried each other in the snow for avalanche rescue practice, and rose at sunrise for an earlybird session of skiing and shooting.
