On November 21st Michael skied and hiked out along most of the
route we will take to get to Janet's Cabin in January. With an
additional 60 days of Colorado winter before the adventure there
will be lots more snow.

Looking toward Ptarmigan Hill.

A long time ago this area burned and the old trees have weathered
into beautiful sculptures that now line our route into the mountains.

The view toward the east and the Ten Mile Range.

The first view of the Sugarloaf Ridge behind our playground.
Camp Hale, where the famous Tenth Mountain Devision trained, is
on the other side of this ridge. You can bet that they came up
and skied some of these sames slopes.

This nice meadow is completely safe from avalanches and will
make a good camp site.

View toward our route as it climbs up to 11,600-ft and timberline.

This tree died of natural causes, it is tight at timber line.

Looking back the way in, a nice area for making a few runs.

Colorado 14ers Quandary and Lincoln provide a skyline to the east.

We will spend two nights in Janet's Cabin with days of playing in
the snow and making adventure films.
