2010 Everest Base Camp Serac Adventure Film School Costs

Tuition and Costs:

Expedition Total: $6,990


• Outfitter Fee: $2,300
• This covers everything from when you get off the plane in Nepal to when you get back on. Includes hotel, meals, tents/tea houses during trek and professional mountain guides.
  
  
• Film School Tuition $2,995
  • This includes pre-departure film development, all filmmaking instruction, course materials including the Film School Text Book and use of additional production equipment.
    
    
• Post Production Course: $1,695
  • This includes editing instruction, orientation dinner, student film festival and use of editing computer with Apple's Final Cut Pro.
    
  
  

Students Responsible For:

• Travel to and from Nepal: (Arriving April 9- Departing April 29)
  • Tickets from Los Angeles to Kathmandu on Thai Airways are currently running ~$1,270 (checked September 15th)
    
    
• Travel to and from Boulder, Colorado: (May 7 - May 11)
  • Tickets from New York to Denver on United are currently running ~$248 (checked September 15th)
    
  • Boulder Super Shuttle from Denver International Airport- $31 each way
    
    
• Hotel in Boulder (May 7 - May 11)
• The Hotel Boulderado is offering students discounted rooms.
• $159/night for a single queen room
• $179/ night for a double queen room (Students are also welcome to share a room with another student to split the cost.)
  
  
• Video Camera & Accessories
• If you don’t already own a camera we can assist in the selection of a new camera and accessories that will work well for the school. B&H Photo and Video is a great place to start your browsing.
  
  
• External Hard Drive (for media storage)
• We highly recommend the Lacie Rugged hard drive for the editing portion of the school. (320GB for $149 or 500GB for $189)
  
  
• All Meals in Boulder, Colorado (Except orientation dinner)
  

Required Deposit and Cancellation Policy

Required Deposit:
Upon acceptance, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit will hold your spot in the Serac Adventure Film School. Checks should be made payable to "Serac Adventure Films". Class size is limited. The remaining balance is due 3 weeks prior to departure. If final payment is not received when due, Serac Adventure Films reserves the right to cancel the reservation.

Cancellation Policy:
If you must cancel your reservation, your cancellation fee will be determined according to the costs we have incurred to reserve your place in the school.

In the event of severe weather, terrorism, civil unrest or personal, family or medical reasons we will refund the unspent portion of tuition at our discretion. There is no refund for arriving late or leaving a trip early.
