Serac Adventure Film School students trekked the 'Super Inca' trail to the lost city of Machu Picchu in the Peruvian Andes and made their own adventure films. Each student learned how to create a compelling story and develop characters on a full scale expedition.
A local Peruvian Shaman joined the students on the trek and served as a subject for many of the student films. Students also volunteered in a small mountain village, where they helped construct a new community building out of mud and rock. At the end of the journey, each student flew to beautiful Boulder, Colorado for five days of intensive editing with Final Cut Pro. The amazing trip culminated with a film festival screening of all student films.
Renowned director Michael Brown was on hand for the entire expedition. Though only 41 years old, Michael's experience gives him unique qualifications. His films have garnered more than 40 film festival awards, he is the recipient of three national Emmy Awards, and he has been a member of over 50 expeditions on all seven continents including four summits of Mount Everest.

"If you love film and love the outdoors then Adventure Film School is for you! Forget being stuck in a classroom all day, learning on location is far superior. I was sold the first moment I learned of Serac Adventure Film School; from start to finish I was never disappointed. SAFS has engineered a winning formula with amazing, exotic locations in addition to knowledgeable and enthusiastic instructors. Overall I'm a more confident filmmaker thanks to SAFS."

"The Serac Adventure Film School delivers an experience beyond experiences. We were in the middle of the Andean mountains, with Peru's most powerful living Shaman, learning to make films from some of the best in the industry. You can't place a value on that. At the end of the school, every student emerges with a solid short film and the tools necessary to take their filmmaking to whichever horizon they seek. That's untouchable."

"Serac Adventure Film School was more than I hoped it would be and then some! It was so cool to be able to pick the brain of these award winning filmmakers for days at a time without having to compete or stand in line to ask questions like so many workshops I have been to in the past. I also found that the course was able to adapt to the many different comfort levels of the participants- it was as basic or advanced as I wanted to make it.
The best part was that the course really started the day I signed up. It wasn't just a course on how to get the shots I wanted in remote locations, but how to effectively tell a story. The end product- my finished documentary exceeded my expectations! A recommendation for anyone considering it!"
