The Outside Serac Adventure Film School was a big success! Student films are now posted on Outside On-Line. The adventure took participants on a hike through a hail storm to a beautiful lake in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains above Santa Fe. We ended the hike with delicious rotisserie BBQ provided by Auspit. Outside's gear editor Sam Moulton was able to test lots of tents, shells, hats, gloves, stoves and other outdoor gear along side the filmmakers making their films.

What do students film?
Everything from in-depth gear reviews to beautiful outdoor sequences to behind the scenes spoofs, we provide a schedule of events and you decide your own story! Serac Adventure Films will guide you through the stages of successful filmmaking. Not only will you learn from the pros to shoot adventure-style, we give you the information you need to create your own film from initial concept to finished DVD & webclip. After the adventure there is an instructional editing session and on the final night, we celebrate the world premiere of your film at our very own film festival.
Students make their adventure film with Michael Brown and a team of experienced filmmakers as mentors. Michael's films have garnered more than 50 film festival awards and three national Emmy Awards, and he has been a member of expeditions on all seven continents including four times to the summit of Mount Everest. He is the go-to cinematographer for the most challenging location work including assignments shooting IMAX on the North Face of the Eiger, NOVA programs deep under the Greenland Ice Cap or vertical assignments for the BBC.
After the Serac Adventure Film School, students have the confidence to make more films, enter them to festivals, post them to the Internet and even start a career in film.

"This unique program combines hands on experience, 'classroom' curriculum and outdoor adventure. The balance was perfect and allowed me to explore all the aspects of film making, from developing a compelling story, to filming in harsh conditions with HD equipment and editing the documentary in Final Cut Pro…Getting access to the depth of experience of the Serac Adventure Film professionals was amazing and invaluable."
--- Emeka Ngwube
"In online journalism, making quality video is becoming increasingly important, both for editors and reporters. Serac's hands-on, over the shoulder advice on story, shooting technique, and editing allowed me to pick up the skills needed to make professional films and coach others on technique. The fast pace of shooting and editing allowed me to maximize a solid base of knowledge in a short amount of time, and the 24/7 advice of the expert staff made learning easy."
