2009 Outside Serac Adventure Film School Itinerary

Day 1 (Sunday, October 11): Students Arrive in Santa Fe & Kick-off Dinner
Arrive in Albuquerque morning to afternoon (flight arrival to Albuquerque no later than 5pm). Expect approximately one hour transport from airport to Santa Fe via shuttle service. Orientation dinner is at 7pm with all students, editors, instructors & friends. Overnight in Hotel Santa Fe.

Day 2 (Monday, October 12): Orientation & First Day of Filming at Outside Magazine
All students and instructors meet in the morning for orientation and planning of students films. Students begin filmmaking process by shooting interviews in and around Outside Magazine headquarters. That night students learn how to digitize footage onto Apple edit computers. Overnight in Hotel Santa Fe.

Day 3 (Tuesday, October 13): Second Day of Filming & Start of Outdoor Adventure
Students and instructors depart Santa Fe for outdoor adventure. Hiking and filming in the mountains surrounding Santa Fe. Students film gear review and camp setup in beautiful desert setting. Overnight in tents.

Day 4 (Wednesday, October 14): Third Day of Filming & End of Outdoor Adventure
Students film breakdown of camp and conclude filming as they hike out of mountains. Transport back to Santa Fe. Students return to editing room to continue digitizing footage, learn how to use basic tools of Final Cut Pro editing software and begin the assembly of their films. Overnight at Hotel Santa Fe.

Day 5 (Thursday, October 15): Editing Session in Santa Fe
Second day of editing. Students learn more advanced functions of Final Cut Pro software and continue editing their films with help from Serac instructors.

Day 6 (Friday, October 16): Editing Session & Student Film Festival
Final day of editing. Students learn how to put the finishing touches on their films and export. Evening screening of all student films with friends and family. Graduation ceremony concludes the school.

Day 7 (Saturday, October 17): Student Departure

Serac Adventure Film School concludes and students fly/drive home.
