Film School Instructors

Our Adventure Film School instructors are the best in the industry, specializing in extreme adventure filmmaking and taking cameras into the world's most intense environments. Our instructors are at your disposal to teach you first-hand the true art of adventure filmmaking along with all the tricks of the trade to complete a film from start to finish. Adventure Film School student films have won awards and appeared on national television. Many students have since started successful careers in the industry.


Mike Herbener Mike has been a cameraman and editor at Serac Adventure Films since 2008. He has filmed and edited for clients such as Warren Miller, Citizen Pictures, National Geographic, and others. He has also shot and produced two documentary films on the sport of mountainboarding, which earned him the alias Dr. Shralp. Mike teaches camera techniques, editing, and other technical aspects of the Serac Adventure Film School.
