In this filmmaking course you will learn by doing as you complete every step in producing a short film. After this experience you will have the confidence to make more films, enter them to festivals, post them to the Internet or even start a career in film.

| The Expedition This filmmking expedition will travel along the rarely seen Ankoscocha Trail 'Super Inca Trail' to Machu Picchu with renowned director Michael Brown. Though only 41 years old, Michael's experience gives him unique qualifications, his films have garnered more than 40 film festival awards, he is the recipient of three national Emmy Awards. He has been a member of over 50 expeditions on all seven continents including four summits of Mount Everest. He continues to make films throughout the year. He is co-directing the "Return to Everest IMAX in 3D, shooting segments for National Geographic in Greenland and is the president of the award winning production company, Serac Adventure Films. Most importantly he loves teaching these courses. During the weekend of November 12 - 17, Serac Adventure Films will hold a five-day instructional editing retreat in beautiful Colorado. You will learn to edit on computers supplied by Apple and loaded with the latest version of Final Cut Pro software.
The experienced crew at Serac will teach you how the pros do it – from organizing and digitizing footage; to editing and adding music. On the final night, we’ll celebrate the world premiere of your films at our very own film festival See a profile of Serac Adventure Films on Apple 'Pro'. |

Production - 12 Days (October 3 - 14) Machu Picchu, Peru This includes everything from when you get off the plane in Lima to when you get back on (with the exception of gear, gifts, and alcohol.) You will be staying at the Hotel San Agustin in Cusco before and after trekking to Machu Picchu. Plan on arriving at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru no later than early morning of October 4, 2008. Post Production - 5 Days (November 12th - 17th) Boulder, Colorado For the post-trip editing weekend film editing will take place in the Wyndham Hannaway Media Lab, located on the world famous Pearl Street Mall. Orientation dinner is included and is at the Mediterranean Restaurant at 7pm on November 12, 2008. Tuition: This includes: instruction on the trail, editing, course materials, use of editing computer with Apple's Final Cut Pro, and we'll also digitize the majority of your footage into the editing computers prior to the Post-Production weekend in Boulder.
