Expedition Summary

Mount Kenya is Africa's second highest peak and most spectacular. Glaciers still cling to the mountain despite its close proximity to the equator. Students trek to Mount Kenya while creating their own films and shooting for a Serac Adventure Films production. The documentary follows heart transplant recipient Kelly Perkins as she makes her attempt on the technical summit of Mount Kenya.

Update: This special edition Adventure Film School brought students into the making of a professional Serac Adventure Films documentary titled “One Subject, Two Hearts, 5 Perspectives”. The documentary followed heart transplant recipient Kelly Perkins as she climbed the technical summit of Mount Kenya. Each aspiring filmmaker was challenged to capture a compelling angle of Kelly’s story. The expedition was a complete success, including the chance to climb a snow-capped equatorial peak, enjoy Africa on safari and interact with the indigenous people.
