Sample Teva Mountain Games Itinerary:
- Day 1:
Arrive in Denver morning or mid-day (flight arrival to DIA no later than 3pm). Three hour transport from DIA to Vail. Orientation dinner at 7pm with all students, instructors & friends.
- Day 2:
Students and instructors head into the mountains by private van for the Steep Creek Kayak Championship. We get a feel for the Teva Mountain Games and dial in our cameras. Students have special media passes that give them exclusive access to all events. Throw on a PFD and get close to the kayak action from the getgo! In the evening, students learn how to digitize footage with Apple edit computers.
- Day 3:
Catch a free shuttle from our hotel or hit the trail along Gore Creek for the second day of the Teva Mountain Games. Take your pick from a number of high-energy competitions or try to cover them all: bouldering, dock dogs, mountain biking, freestyle kayaking, fly-fishing and more. Spend the day filming in beautiful Vail Village and a night of editing at our home base, the Antlers at Vail Hotel.
- Day 4:
Continue filming on the third day of the Teva Mountain Games. Each day presents new competitions and athletes to follow. Use your special media pass to get up close and personal with some of the top action sports athletes in the world.
- Day 5:
Get your final shots on the fourth day of the Teva Mountain Games. Students begin the editing of their films in our private editing room. Learn how to use the tools of Final Cut Pro software and lay down the first sequences of your short film.
- Day 6:
First full day of editing. Students learn more advanced functions of Final Cut Pro software and continue editing their films with help from Adventure Film School instructors.
- Day 7:
Final day of editing. Students will learn how to put the finishing touches on their films and how to export the final product. An evening screening of all student films will be held with a graduation ceremony concluding the school.
- Day 8:
Outside Adventure Film School concludes and students fly home.
*Students will receive a detailed schedule of all events upon acceptance.
